At the end of a hectic day NOTHING makes me happier than regrouping and re-organizing my home. OCD? Yeppers!
To me, being surrounded by my tots mess (which is A-OK from 7a-7p) is downright nerve wrecking come 7:01p. As soon as his head hits the pillow I go to work picking up the plethora of toys, crayons, books, etc. that were thrown about during the day.
It’s my “ahhh” moment. When our apartment goes from UTTER CHAOS to (knock on wood) a quiet, organized HOME. Not only do I get a mini workout from all the squats and trips to and from the various toy boxes, but it’s also when I get my greatest idea’s. Its my “me” time. The time that I wind down, take a breath and clear my head.
Its tiny, but its one of our favorite rooms. Its our SCHOOL ROOM. Sure, we’re stay-at-home folks, but that doesn’t mean my tot doesn’t get to enjoy the same fun activities as his pre-school/daycare going friends. Thanks to Grandpa, we now have a P’kolino table. The room’s a work in progress (it still needs a rug and artwork) but for now we’re pleased.
Toy central. Its where I try to keep the majority of toys, games, and books. My theory is that it can’t get too out of control if it’s all centrally located. This little gem of a room is just off of the den, and in view of the kitchen, so it makes the PERFECT play space. Remember, bins are a gals best friend…and an AWESOME bookshelf handcrafted by Papaw doesn’t hurt either.
In the end, the end of the day that is, when everything’s tucked in to its own little space, it makes for ONE HAPPY MOMMA.
Good order is the foundation of all things.
